Peyton is 2!!!

It feels like our little Peyton Rose was just born and here she is already 2 years old (December 7)! We had a very small party with a few of our closest friends and she was spoiled rotten. We got her a Radio Flyer wagon that both the girls love already!
Peyton's personality has come out so much these past few months! She is a very happy and funny little girl and I think she will be the class clown when she is in school. She is also quite a drama queen and does not like to be told "no". She will either throw a little fit or start bawling her head off! Peyton still isn't talking too much, (that we can understand anyway) but is getting better all the time.
The girls get along so great and play together all day long. It makes my job so much easier when they get along so well!
The other big news with Peyton is that she is potty trained! She still has accidents now and then but we are officially diaper free! It was so much easier with the second child!

Delaney's 4th Bday

I am not even sure I remember how to work this blog since it has been so long!
Delaney turned four on August 22nd! I can't even believe how fast the time has gone! She has changed so much from a toddler into a sweet little girl.
We had her friends birthday party on the Thursday before her real birthday. It was at the park and had a tinkerbell theme. Then on her actual birthday, Sunday, we went to Red Robin with Delaney's best friend, Holland and family. After we got home we opened presents in front of the webcam so Daddy could watch too. We were so glad to have Nana here to celebrate too!
Our house is officially being taken over by barbies and fairies!

Happy Birthday Peyton Rose! (December 7)

I can't believe how fast Peyton's first year flew by! It seems like she was just born and she is already a little trouble maker. We had her party back in MT because it was the same weekend that Morgan had drill. Her favorite presents were her baby doll from Grandma Stearns and the rocking horse that we got her.
Peyton has developed quite the little personality. Although, she was the easier baby, she is a little more work as a toddler. She loves being the center of attention and thinks she is hilarious. She is always laughing at herself and is a little ham. She still has the biggest smile that I have ever seen. She finally started really walking a few weeks after turning one and by mid January she was really moving fast. She also can climb on everything so we can't leave her alone for a second.
We are looking forward to a fun year ahead with our two sweet girls!!!

We had a great time trick or treating this year because Delaney really understood what was going on. She had a blast going from house to house and was shouting "trick or treat" before the door was even open. It was so fun for Delaney to have her friend, Fiona, to go with. This year we also went to Green Bluff for hay rides, yummy food, and the pumpkin patch. Peyton was adorable as a ladybug and was SO wiggly that is was/is very hard to carry her anymore. In fact, she took her first two steps just a few days after Halloween.

Our baby turned 3 on August 22nd. I can hardly believe how fast 3 years went by! We had a Dora themed family party at Spring Meadow Lake in Helena. I think this is the last time I will be able to get away with having a birthday party without friends but Morgan had drill that weekend so we decided to just do one party. When we drove up the the lake, she looked around and said, "Where's all my friends?" It made me feel bad but she forgot about it in about 2 seconds.
Delaney is still Miss Independent and a social butterfly! She is also quite a little talker. Hmmm, I wonder where she gets that?! She is in school two days a week and absolutely loves it! Of course we think she is the smartest kid alive and the cutest too!

Camping

We survived out first big camping trip! Barely...
Though we had many crazy moments on our trip to Glacier National Park and Holland Lake, we ended up having a blast. We were gone for 6 days and thank the Lord we have a camper. It rained pretty much the whole time and the temp. stayed about 50 degrees. We ended up running out of warm clothes because I had no idea the weather would be so bad. By the end of the trip the girls were in their pj's because it was the only warm thing left. Peyton had a fever for about 3 days and quite a few bonks on the head since she is such a little mover. She only fell out of the camper once, poor thing! Delaney had sooo much fun being in the woods and spending time with her cousins and all of her grandparents. Oh, did I mention the refrigirator almost starting the camper on fire! Or the 1 flat tire and three things we hit with the camper? Oh, sweet family memories...

Busy July

July went by so fast for us! We made it back to MT twice. The first was for my dad's surprise 50th birthday party and the Fourth of July. We had a barn dance with a band and everything. It was so much fun! Morgan and I did a slide show of his life and we were all teared up after that.
Then we were home for two weeks and back again for my class reunion, Morgan's continuing education at Big Sky, and Erica Miller's wedding. It was a very busy week!

JHS reunion: I don't know what I was so nervous about! It was fun to catch up with everyone and I wish more people could have made it.

Pediatric Medicine at Big Sky Resort: Morgan attended the conference for 4 days and I came for two so we could spend some alone time together. It was kind of hard since I am still nursing and had to stock up and pump while I was gone. But both Peyton and I did great and were very happy to be reunited. I think all you nursing moms know how that goes! So anyway, we went to a few nice dinners, soaked in the hot tub and went a a big hike up to Lone Peak. We made it as far as we could go in our cheap running shoes and without climbing gear. Needless to say, our feet and legs were very tired! The next morning we went white water rafting on the Gallatin. We had a blast.

Erica Miller's wedding: So beautiful!!! I don't know if I have ever been to such a gorgeous wedding and I am so happy for them.

Delaney is having a very fun summer so far. She has been to a ton of birthday parties and is little miss social! She is getting much braver in the water this year but is still just a little nervous. She also just got done with Soccer Tots with her friend, Fiona.

Peyton is now fully crawling like a maniac and pulling herself to standing on pretty much everything. She is also eating a ton of "real" food now and the only thing she hasn't liked so far is prunes and peas. But who does? Parenting is suddenly getting a lot busier for me with two little movers.

We are off for a week long camping trip to Glacier and Holland Lake this weekend. I am curious to see if it will be more fun or more work!

Peyton is 6 months old!!!

I can not believe how fast time has flown by with our baby girl. Peyton Rose is sitting up, eating solid foods and crawling! Actually she is mostly just army crawling but can crawl too if she really tries hard. She also just got her first tooth a few days ago! I was so surprised because Delaney didn't get her first tooth until she was 13 mos! It amazes me how different two kids can be. Peyton likes to put everything in her mouth and grab anything close to her which really annoys her big sister. We are already breaking up fights! But they are the best of friends too and love to make each other laugh. We are looking forward to watching our girls grow up together.

We have had a fun and very busy summer so far. Morgan was gone a lot in May and June so we are so happy to have him home for the rest of the summer. The girls are getting to be so much fun and interactive with each other. We will be going to Montana for a week in July so are looking forward to catching up with everyone.

The Godparents - Grandma Stearns and Grandpa Marks

What a fun weekend we had has a family. First though - Morgan and I celebrated our 5 year wedding anniversary on April 24th. My parents came down a day early and watched the kids overnight so that we could go to dinner and stay at the Davenport Hotel. It was heavenly!!! Kind of hard though since I am still nursing so I had to pump a lot. Luckily Peyton takes bottles very well!
Then on Sunday the 26th, Peyton was baptized at our church, St. Francis of Assisi. My dad and Morgan's mom are her godparents. After the ceremony we went to Rockwood Bakery for lunch and cake and then went to Manito Park to fly kites and play. It was a busy and very fun weekend.

Easter 2009

We had a quiet Easter this year with just the four of us. On Friday Delaney had an Easter egg hunt and party at her school. On Easter morning Delaney woke up to find that the Easter bunny hid her basket and eggs in the yard. Luckily it wasn't to cold for her to be outside in her p.j.'s. Then we went to church and the girls both did so well. We got several compliments on how well behaved they were. Nothing makes a parent prouder than hearing compliments about their kids. It makes us feel like we are doing something right! After church we went to C.I. Shenanigan's for brunch. It was pretty delicious and I ate enough desserts to make up for the whole 40 days I gave them up for Lent. I am so thankful for my family and the real reason for the Easter season!

March was an exciting month for Peyton Rose! She rolled over both back to front and front to back. She seemed pretty surprised everytime that is happened. She also has started laughing which is the cutest thing ever. Peyton is the happiest baby I have ever been around. She has a huge smile whenever you are around that lights up your day!

Big Girl Undies!!!

Delaney is finally potty trained and we are all so excited! It has been about 2 weeks since we have started and has gone better than expected. She still has accidents every now and then but overall has done a great job! She loves to wear her Dora panties and it was the big motivation to get her going. Anything Dora for her is a big deal.

Smiley Girls

Peyton has started to smile so much now. She is such a great baby and is growing out of her 3 month clothes already! Both of the girls have been really sick with colds, congestion and coughs this week. Delaney has an ear infection as well so it hasn't been so fun at our house lately. We are off to Montana tomorrow for a week for Morgan to work at the Guard.

Delaney's 1st Haircut!

Delaney got her haircut for the first time last week and she did so great! She wasn't scared at all and climbed right up into the chair. Of course I had to get pictures and we saved a lock of hair for her baby book. I can't believe how big she is getting!

Winter Fun in Montana!

Well, this is the second time that I have added these photos but I accidentally erased my post! I am terrible at all this computer stuff! The pictures are from our little sledding party that we had with my parents and brothers family. The kids were all so adorable but Hallie was really the only one brave enough to do a lot of sledding. We had a lot of fun being back for the week and will be back again for a week in February for Morgan to work at the Guard.

Some exciting news! Peyton is sleeping through the night now. She has done it 5 nights and it is awesome!!! She is also growing like a weed. At her Dr. appt today she was in the 97th percentile for heigth. It is amazing how different two kids can be. Delaney was so tiny still at this age - it seems that they are exact opposites which is lots of fun. Morgan fed her her first bottle today and she took it like a champ. We had to get started because I start back at work in another month. We found a nanny that will be coming to the house to take care of Peyton which will be great until she is older. Delaney still loves "school" and was jumping up and down today in excitement when we dropped her off.

Merry Christmas!

Our first Christmas in our house in Spokane! It was so nice to not have to travel for the holidays. Especially with a 2 1/2 week old baby! We went to Christmas Eve mass and had a nice dinner together and then just relaxed on Christmas day. Delaney was quite spoiled and got a radio flyer tricycle from Santa. Her other favorites were a kitchen set from Uncle Jack and Aunt Rachel, a backpack from Nana and Papa and a Dora pillow from Grandma. Oh, and she was a princess with her crown and necklaces too! Peyton was only really watching the Christmas lights and sleeping. Morgan was sooo excited with his present - a Taurus Judge revolver that I got him for Christmas and birthday combined. I got a mother's ring and an ipod nano. I have never been into music that much but I am really having fun downloading songs and am so excited to use it when I am running and working out. Most of all this year we thank God for our health and happiness! We are just so grateful for family and our two beautiful girls.

By the way - this is the first time posting to our new blog so I am not very good yet. Hopefully it will improve in the future!
